Taylor Stays Unbeaten With 2-0 Win Over IU Columbus

Taylor University continued its unbeaten start to the 2026 season Saturday night, shutting out IU Columbus 2-0 at Turner Stadium.

The Trojans controlled the match from an attacking standpoint, finishing with a 19-6 advantage in shots and putting 13 attempts on goal compared with two for the Crimson Pride.

Taylor grabbed the lead in the 22nd minute when pressure from the Trojans resulted in an IU Columbus own goal, putting Taylor in front 1-0.

IU Columbus managed to keep the deficit at one for the remainder of the opening half despite Taylor producing nine first-half shots.

The Crimson Pride continued to hang around deep into the second half, thanks in large part to their work defensively and in goal. IU Columbus finished the night with 11 saves against Taylor’s 13 shots on target.

Taylor finally found its insurance goal in the 81st minute. Isaiah Ross scored his first goal of the season at the 80:05 mark, with Caleb Van Dop providing the assist to extend the Trojans’ advantage to 2-0.

IU Columbus was unable to answer over the final 10 minutes.

Taylor also finished with a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks. IU Columbus put two of its six shots on target, but neither found the back of the net.

The victory keeps Taylor’s outstanding start rolling. The Trojans entered Saturday at 5-0-2 after a 2-1 comeback victory over Madonna earlier in the week, meaning Taylor improves to 6-0-2 with the win.

For IU Columbus, the loss comes after the Crimson Pride had picked up a 5-3 victory over Alice Lloyd on Wednesday.
