Oldenburg Academy Takes Over 1A No. 1 as Latest ISCA Girls Soccer Rankings Arrive

The latest Indiana Soccer Coaches Association girls soccer rankings have arrived, and while the top of Classes 3A and 2A remains steady, there is a change at No. 1 in Class 1A.

Hamilton Southeastern continues to lead Class 3A, Evansville Memorial remains atop Class 2A, and Oldenburg Academy has moved past Westview to become the new No. 1 team in Class 1A.

The Week Five rankings were released September 21 and feature several significant moves as teams continue their push toward the IHSAA postseason.

Class 3A: HSE Continues to Lead

There is no change at the top of Class 3A, where Hamilton Southeastern remains the state’s No. 1 team.

In fact, the entire top eight remains unchanged from Week Four. Homestead stays No. 2, followed by Carmel, Westfield and Center Grove in the top five. Zionsville is sixth, Cathedral seventh and Noblesville eighth.

The big move comes immediately behind that group.

Mishawaka Marian jumps four positions from No. 13 to No. 9, moving into the Class 3A top 10. Mt. Vernon also climbs two positions from 12th to 10th.

Those moves push Crown Point from No. 10 to No. 11, while Lawrence North falls three positions from ninth to 12th. Penn slides two spots to No. 13.

Evansville North holds steady at No. 14, while East Central moves up one position to No. 15.

Postseason Picture Beginning to Take Shape

The latest rankings show very different situations at the top of Indiana’s three girls soccer classifications.

Class 3A has been remarkably steady, with Hamilton Southeastern, Homestead and Carmel continuing to occupy the first three positions and the entire top eight unchanged this week.

Class 2A has similar stability at the top, with Evansville Memorial, Brebeuf Jesuit, Park Tudor and South Bend Saint Joseph maintaining the first four positions. The biggest changes are occurring just behind those teams, where Leo and Bishop Chatard each climbed four spots.

Class 1A provides the week’s change at No. 1, with Oldenburg Academy overtaking Westview. White River Valley’s four-position climb and the arrival of Sullivan and Covington in the Top 20 add further movement to the classification.

With the calendar moving toward October, every result becomes increasingly important as Indiana’s teams prepare for the IHSAA state tournament.
