Purdue Blanks Ball State, 5-0 in Women’s Soccer

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue put together an explosive first half Thursday night, scoring five times in the opening 26 minutes on its way to a 5-0 victory over Ball State in women’s college soccer at Folk Field.

The Boilermakers wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Jaiden Anderson converted a penalty kick just 5:33 into the match to give Purdue a 1-0 advantage.

Less than three minutes later, Purdue doubled its lead. Rosa Maalouf scored at 8:26, with Irene Campo providing the assist, to make it 2-0.
Campo then took over from the penalty spot. She converted a penalty kick at 13:42 and added another at 22:39, giving Purdue a commanding 4-0 advantage.

Maalouf capped the scoring at 25:26, converting Purdue’s fourth penalty kick of the opening half. She finished with two goals, while Campo contributed two goals and an assist.

Purdue carried the 5-0 advantage into halftime and kept Ball State off the scoreboard throughout the second half.

The Boilermakers controlled the match offensively, outshooting the Cardinals 29-4, including a 16-2 advantage in first-half shots. Purdue also held an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
Ball State’s goalkeeper was credited with six saves, including four during the second half. Purdue recorded one save while posting the clean sheet.

Purdue improves to 4-0-1 with the victory, while Ball State falls to 1-2-1.
