High School Boys Soccer Recap from 8/27

Thursday was a busy night on the boys high school soccer pitch around the state.

In a battle of Top 5 Class 1A teams, #3 Greenwood Christian Academy defeats #5 Indianapolis Scecina in PKs. The match was tied at 2 prior to the kicks. Zavien Green and Gavin Kurtz found the back of the net for Greenwood Christian in regulation. Levi Williams made 14 saves as well for GCA.

In Class 3A, #11 Castle blanks Evansville Central 9-0 to improve to 5-0 on the season. Lucas Jurardo scored a hat trick for the Knights in the winning effort. Len Van Hoy added a pair of goals as well for Castle,

Class 3A #8 Penn and #13 Concord play to a 1-1 draw. For Penn, they are 3-0-3 on the season while Concord is 2-0-2.

In Class 3A, #6 Carmel and Indy Cathederal play to a scoreless draw. Carmel is now 0-1-2 while Cathederal is 1-1-3.

Class 3A #3 Hamilton Southeastern earned a 2-0 win over the Pendleton Heights Arabians. The Royals are now 3-0-2 on the year while Pendleton Heights is now 3-1-1.

Class 3A #4 Noblesville earns a 2-0 win over Brebeuf Jesuit. For the Millers, they are now 3-0-1 on the season while Brebeuf falls to 2-2.

Class 2A #6 Covenant Christian picked up a 9-0 victory over Indianapolis Lutheran. Covenant Christian is now 4-1 while Indy Lutheran is 2-2.

Class 2A #8 Leo earns a 4-1 win over 2A #10 Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran. For Leo, Dayne Roth scored a pair of goals to lead the way.Leo is 4-1-1 on the season while Concordia Lutheran is now 1-4.

Class 2A #11 Heritage Hills and Evansville Mater Dei play to a 1-1 tie. For the Patriots, their lone goal came from Landon Zellers. Heritage Hills is 3-1-1 while Evansville Mater Dei is now 2-1-2.

Class 2A #20 Southridge defeats #17 Washington in Penalty Kicks. The match was tied at 3 prior to the PKs. Southridge improves to 5-1 while Washington slips to 2-2.

Class 2A #9 Speedway defeats Greenwood in PKs. The teams played to a 1-1 draw before the shootout period. Speedway is now 3-1 while Greenwood is 2-1-2. 

Class 1A, #2 Faith Christian improves to 4-1 on the season with a 10-1 victory over Rossville. Rossville with the loss is now 0-4

Class 1A #12 Southwestern of Shelby earns their 2nd win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Brown County. For the Spartans, they are now 2-1-2 on the season. Brown County slips to 1-2.

In other action,

Horizon Christian downs KIPP Legacy 9-0. 9 different members of the Horizon Christian team scored goals in the win. Horizon Christian is 4-0 while KIPP Legacy is now 0-3.

Lakeland Christian Academy over Rochester 7-0. For Lakeland Christian, it was a pair of goals each for Luke Clemons and Zaiden Miller. Lakeland Christian is 3-2 while Rochester slips to 1-4.

Lafayette Central Catholic picks up a 9-3 win over North White to improve to 4-1 on the season. For the Knights, Jackson Schneidt scored 3 goals and added an assist. Joseph Galarza scored a pair of goals as well for Central Catholic. North White slips to 1-2 with the loss.

In a battle of Gibson County schools, Gibson Southern blanks Wood Memorial 3-0. Jeter Simmons put home a pair of goals for the Titans in the win. 

International blanks Sheridan 10-0 to improve to 3-2 on the season. For the Gryphons, Zen Bailey scored a hat trick while Edward Chesterfield added a pair of goals. Sheridan slips to 1-4 with the loss.

Warsaw remained unbeaten with an impressive 4-0 shutout of Plymouth. The Tigers improved to 5-0 on the season with the victory.

Jasper also stayed perfect, blanking Evansville Harrison 3-0. The Wildcats moved to 4-0 with the win.

East Central continued its unbeaten start with a 4-0 victory over South Dearborn. The Trojans improved to 5-0 on the season.

Greenfield-Central picked up a road shutout, defeating Yorktown 2-0.

Evansville Reitz defeated Evansville Christian 2-1

Lanesville defeated Scottsburg 3-2. Lanesville is now 2-2 on the season while Scottsburg is now 0-3. 

Angola picks up an 11-0 victory over Prairie Heights. Angola is now 1-3 while Prairie Heights is 0-5.

Frankfort is now 3-2 on the season after a 3-2 win at home with North Montgomery. The Chargers with the loss slip to 1-3-1 on the season.

Greencastle improves to 4-0 on the season with a 3-2 win over the Cadets of Cascade. With the loss, Cascade slips to 2-3 on the year.

Bethesda Christian earned a 3-1 victory over Indianapolis Shortridge.

Logansport blanked Benton Central 2-0.

Southmont defeated Crawfordsville 5-1.

Barr-Reeve earned a 4-2 victory over Bedford North Lawrence.

South Bend Riley shut out Glenn 2-0.

West Vigo defeated North Knox 5-2.

Columbia City blanked Bellmont 4-0.

Clarksville won a high-scoring contest over Rock Creek Academy, 5-3.

Indianapolis Crispus Attucks defeated Christel House 3-1.

East Noble picked up a 3-1 victory over Huntington North.

Lakeland blanked Central Noble 3-0.

Northeast Dubois shut out Washington Catholic 3-0.

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter earned a 2-0 victory over Heritage Christian.

Muncie Central earned a 2-1 win over Rushville.

Beech Grove shut out Triton Central 1-0.

Hauser also won a 1-0 defensive battle against Morristown.

Martinsville picked up a 2-1 road victory over Plainfield.

Tippecanoe Valley and Caston finished in a 1-1 draw.

McCutcheon and Lebanon also battled to a 2-2 draw.

Indian Creek remained unbeaten with a convincing 9-0 win over Monrovia. The Braves improved to 4-0.

Union City exploded offensively in a 9-0 victory over Twin Valley South.

Vincennes Rivet continued its strong start with an 8-0 shutout of Mitchell. The Patriots improved to 3-0.

North Posey rolled past South Spencer 7-1

Lighthouse Christian Academy earned a 7-1 victory over Owen Valley.
