Boys HS Recap for September 10th

Thursday was a busy night on the pitch in boys high school soccer.

Ranked Matchups

3A #2 Hamilton Southeastern 3, #13 Brebeuf Jesuit 1

Hamilton Southeastern bounced back from a tough midweek loss with a strong road performance Thursday night, defeating Brebeuf Jesuit 3-1 in boys soccer action.

The Royals entered the match coming off a narrow 1-0 loss to rival Fishers in the Mudsock game on Tuesday, a contest in which HSE stayed within striking distance throughout but could not find an equalizer.

Thursday provided the response Hamilton Southeastern was looking for. Playing at Brebeuf, the Royals found the net three times and did enough defensively to keep the Braves from mounting a comeback. The matchup was part of a difficult stretch for both programs, with Brebeuf having just dropped a 3-0 decision to Cathedral earlier in the week.

The result gives Hamilton Southeastern a valuable road win and helps steady the Royals after the Fishers setback. For Brebeuf Jesuit, the loss extends a challenging run against high-level central Indiana competition

3A #13 Concord 3, 2A Mishawaka Marian 0

Concord came up with one of Thursday night’s biggest boys soccer results, shutting out previously unbeaten Mishawaka Marian 2-0 on the road.

The Minutemen entered the matchup with momentum after a 1-0 win over Goshen earlier in the week, while Marian came in at 7-0 following a 1-0 victory over South Bend Saint Joseph

Thursday belonged to Concord. The Minutemen held Marian scoreless and found the net twice to hand the Knights their first loss of the season. The result was especially notable because Marian entered as one of the top-ranked teams in Indiana and had allowed very little defensively during its perfect start.

For Concord, the win continues a strong stretch that now includes back-to-back shutouts over quality opponents. After blanking Goshen on Tuesday, the Minutemen followed that performance by keeping Marian off the scoreboard as well.

For Mishawaka Marian, the loss ends a seven-game winning streak to open the season and gives the Knights their first setback of 2026.

2A #1 Guerin Catholic 5, 3A #19 Harrison (West Lafayette) 1

Guerin Catholic continued its strong run of form Thursday night, picking up a 5-1 victory over Harrison in boys soccer action.

The Golden Eagles entered the matchup unbeaten at 4-0-4 and had been especially strong defensively, surrendering only one goal over their previous four matches. That stretch included an 8-0 victory over Bishop Chatard and a 1-0 shutout of Roncalli earlier in the week.

Harrison managed to get on the scoreboard, but the Raiders couldn’t keep pace with Guerin Catholic’s offensive pressure. The five-goal showing marked another impressive attacking performance for a Golden Eagles side that had already produced eight goals against Bishop Chatard five days earlier.

The victory keeps Guerin Catholic unbeaten and adds another quality result to a résumé that already includes wins over Brebeuf Jesuit, Bishop Chatard and Roncalli, along with draws against Hamilton Southeastern, Westfield and Cathedral.

2A #3 Park Tudor 4, 1A #12 Bethesda Christian 1

Park Tudor kept its unbeaten season rolling Thursday night, picking up a 4-1 victory over Bethesda Christian in a matchup of two highly regarded small-school programs.

The Panthers entered the night 6-0-2 and riding a three-game winning streak, while Bethesda Christian came in at 6-2 after winning six straight. The Patriots had been particularly dangerous offensively, averaging nearly four goals per game entering the contest.

Park Tudor was coming off a 3-2 victory over Bishop Chatard on Tuesday and carried that momentum into Thursday’s PAAC Conference matchup. The Panthers found the net four times while limiting a Bethesda Christian attack that had scored eight goals against Western Boone just two nights earlier.

The result gives Park Tudor another quality win as the Panthers remain unbeaten and continue building an impressive résumé. It was also an important conference result for a Park Tudor squad that entered Thursday 2-0 in PAAC play.

For Bethesda Christian, the defeat snaps a six-match winning streak and comes after a stretch in which the Patriots had been one of the hotter teams in Class 1A.

2A #4 Hammond Bishop Noll 4, #7 Illiana Christian 1

Bishop Noll came away with a statement victory Thursday night, defeating Illiana Christian 4-1 in a matchup between two ranked Class 2A boys soccer teams.

The Warriors entered the week ranked No. 4 in the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Class 2A poll, while Illiana Christian was ranked No. 7, making the Northwest Indiana matchup one of the more intriguing games on Thursday’s statewide slate.

Bishop Noll’s attack proved to be the difference. The Warriors put four goals past an Illiana Christian squad that entered Thursday with a 5-3 record and had been averaging better than two goals per match itself.

The Vikings were able to get one goal back, but they couldn’t match Bishop Noll’s offensive production. The result gives the Warriors an important victory over a fellow Top-10 Class 2A opponent and strengthens their résumé as the season moves deeper into September.

The win also sets Bishop Noll up for another opportunity Saturday when the Warriors host Marquette Catholic. Illiana Christian, meanwhile, is scheduled to host Bishop Luers on Saturday.
