Girls HS Soccer Wrap from Tuesday
Tuesday night brought another full slate of Indiana high school girls soccer, with ranked teams from all three classes delivering big performances and several notable cross-class results highlighting the September 8 schedule.
The Indiana Soccer Coaches Association rankings provided plenty of marquee matchups, and several highly ranked teams strengthened their résumés.
Class 3A: Carmel Wins Top-10 Battle
One of the night’s biggest results came from Carmel.
The No. 3 Greyhounds defeated No. 9 Lawrence North, 3-0, earning a shutout in a matchup between two Top-10 Class 3A teams.
Crown Point, ranked No. 10 in Class 3A, also delivered a dominant performance, rolling past La Porte 10-0.
No. 17 Warsaw had one of the biggest offensive nights in the state. The Tigers exploded for 12 goals in a 12-1 victory over Mishawaka.
No. 13 Columbus North earned a 1-0 victory over Bishop Chatard, while No. 11 Penn picked up a 3-1 road victory over Northridge.
One of the more intriguing cross-class results came in Evansville, where No. 2 Class 2A Evansville Memorial defeated No. 14 Class 3A Evansville North, 2-0.
East Central, ranked No. 15 in Class 3A, also fell to a highly regarded smaller-school opponent as No. 9 Class 2A Batesville won 4-0.
Class 2A: Memorial, Mater Dei and Heritage Hills Roll
Evansville Memorial produced one of Tuesday’s most impressive ranked victories with its 2-0 shutout of Class 3A No. 14 Evansville North.
Fifth-ranked Evansville Mater Dei was equally impressive, blanking Gibson Southern 5-0.

Tuesday’s Biggest Takeaways
Several results stand out from the statewide slate.
Carmel’s 3-0 win over Lawrence North gave the Greyhounds a quality Top-10 victory in Class 3A.
Evansville Memorial’s 2-0 win over Evansville North strengthened the argument that the second-ranked Tigers are among the state’s best regardless of class.
Batesville’s 4-0 victory over East Central was another major cross-class statement.
In 1A, Westview, White River Valley, Switzerland County and Forest Park combined for 36 goals while allowing just one.
There were also plenty of dominant performances outside the rankings, including Evansville Reitz’s 10-1 win over Evansville Harrison, Washington Catholic’s 8-0 loss to Vincennes Lincoln, Manchester’s 9-0 win over Wabash, Boone Grove’s 6-0 win over Hammond Central and New Albany’s 9-0 victory over Silver Creek.
With September moving along, conference races and postseason contenders are beginning to separate themselves — and Tuesday’s results provided another strong snapshot of where Indiana girls soccer stands.
