No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan Women Stay Unbeaten with 1-0 Win at Madonna

The fifth-ranked Indiana Wesleyan women’s soccer team continued its unbeaten start to the 2026 season Wednesday afternoon, earning a 1-0 road victory over Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan.
The Wildcats controlled much of the attacking play, but one goal was all they needed.
Avery Williams provided the difference for Indiana Wesleyan, finding the back of the net with Carlie Grosser providing the assist. The goal stood as the game-winner as the Wildcats’ defense recorded another clean sheet.
Indiana Wesleyan generated 18 total shots during the match and put five on goal. Madonna was limited to seven shots overall and managed just one attempt on target.
The shutout continues what has been a dominant defensive start for IWU. Through seven matches, the Wildcats have surrendered only one goal while recording six clean sheets. Indiana Wesleyan’s goalkeepers have combined for 18 saves and a .947 save percentage.
Offensively, the Wildcats have now outscored their opponents 19-1 this season.
Wednesday’s victory also kept Indiana Wesleyan unbeaten at 6-0-1. The Wildcats entered the week ranked No. 5 in the NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 after jumping six positions from No. 11 in the September 2 poll.
IWU will now get a week away from competition before returning home Wednesday, September 16, against IU East. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the IWU Soccer Field in Marion.
