Postseason Picture Beginning to Take Shape
The latest rankings show very different situations at the top of Indiana’s three girls soccer classifications.
Class 3A has been remarkably steady, with Hamilton Southeastern, Homestead and Carmel continuing to occupy the first three positions and the entire top eight unchanged this week.
Class 2A has similar stability at the top, with Evansville Memorial, Brebeuf Jesuit, Park Tudor and South Bend Saint Joseph maintaining the first four positions. The biggest changes are occurring just behind those teams, where Leo and Bishop Chatard each climbed four spots.
Class 1A provides the week’s change at No. 1, with Oldenburg Academy overtaking Westview. White River Valley’s four-position climb and the arrival of Sullivan and Covington in the Top 20 add further movement to the classification.
With the calendar moving toward October, every result becomes increasingly important as Indiana’s teams prepare for the IHSAA state tournament.
