Purdue Northwest Opens Season With 1-1 Draw at Quincy in Women’s Soccer

QUINCY, Ill. — Purdue Northwest opened its 2026 women’s soccer season with a road result Thursday night, battling Quincy University to a 1-1 draw at Jack Mackenzie Field.

The Pride struck first in the 18th minute when senior Natasha Tanner found the back of the net, giving Purdue Northwest a 1-0 advantage. PNW carried that lead through the remainder of the first half and into the break.

Quincy eventually found the equalizer in the second half. Rebecca Rheinheimer scored in the 71st minute to pull the Hawks even at 1-1.
Neither side was able to find a game-winner over the remaining 19 minutes, leaving both programs with a draw in their season opener.

Quincy generated more opportunities offensively, finishing with a 13-6 advantage in shots. The Hawks put five shots on goal compared to four for Purdue Northwest.
PNW goalkeeper Meta Fischer played all 90 minutes and made four saves, allowing just the one second-half goal. Quincy’s Devin Tracy also went the distance, recording three saves.
Quincy held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks. Purdue Northwest was called for 10 fouls compared to six for the Hawks.

The draw leaves both Purdue Northwest and Quincy at 0-0-1 to begin the season.

Purdue Northwest continues its season-opening road trip Saturday when the Pride visits Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
