While we are less than 3 months from the start of official practices, there remains several openings for soccer coaching positions around the state.
In the northern half of the state, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger is looking for a girls head soccer coach. Bishop Dwenger lost to Belmont in a heartbreak of a shootout 4-3 in the regional semi-final, ending their season with a record of 15-3-1. The Saints also won the Girls Soccer Conference Title in the Summit with an undefeated 7-0 mark. Sami Aslege scored on average more than a goal per match, averaged nearly an assist per, and was one of four seniors on the roster. Another key hole the team will have heading into the fall will be replacing the goalkeeping of Lydia Garrett. Garrett allowed less than a goal per game.
On the other side of the spectrum in Northeastern Indiana, Wabash is seeking a Girls Soccer head coach. The Apaches went 2-13-1 on the season and fell to South Adams in the first round of the Sectional. That was down from the 9-7 mark the Apaches posted in the 2024 season.
Greencastle is seeking a girls soccer head coach as well. As the only Southern Indiana girls coaching opening, The Tiger Cubs went 5-2 in the Monon and 8-10 overall, falling to Covington in the 2nd round of sectionals. One thing that sticks out on this side is that the only major change for the Tiger Cubs will be between the pipes as Izzy Camara graduates. Camara had 4 clean sheets and had a goals allowed average of under 2 per match.
In northern boys soccer, Sheridan is seeking a head coach. Last season, Sheridan went 5-10 overall, but had a 4-2 mark in the Hoosier Heartland Conference. The team is also losing 5 seniors to graduation.
In the south, Washington Catholic recently saw their girls head soccer coaching position come open. Peyton Catt, who served also as the boys basketball coach and athletic director, recently took the athletic director position at his alma mater, Vincennes Rivet. Catt is replacing Jill Frey in that position. Catt while coaching at Washington Catholic led the team to a 4-10-1 mark. That was a 2 game improvement over the 2024 season.
Finally, Seton Catholic is seeking a head head coach. Seton Catholic in 2025 went 4-10-3, finishing 3rd in the Pioneer. In 2024, the team finished 4-10-1 and 6th overall in their conference. Scoring more than doubled in 2025 compared to 2024 for Seton Catholic. For Seton though, they are losing 7 seniors to graduaton.
