The Mayors Cup Ends Up in Neutral Ground for 2026

The fifth annual Mayor’s Cup ended without a goal as University of Evansville and University of Southern Indiana battled to a 0-0 draw at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
The result moves Southern Indiana to 0-3-3. The Screaming Eagles entered Tuesday still searching for their first victory but managed their third draw and second scoreless tie of the season.
For Evansville, the draw follows Friday’s 3-0 victory at Lindenwood. The Purple Aces entered Tuesday 1-4-1, meaning the draw moves UE to 1-4-2.
Most importantly, the defenses and goalkeepers made sure nobody found the breakthrough. Because a complete official 2026 box score with Tuesday’s individual save totals and shot statistics had not yet surfaced in the sources available overnight, I’m not assigning unverified save numbers to Hugo Amo or Jacob English.
The result does end Evansville’s three-match winning streak in the Mayor’s Cup series. USI’s previous result in the rivalry had also been a scoreless draw in the inaugural 2022 meeting.
