Wabash Falls to Muskingum in Final of Robbie Dreher Classic

Wabash College’s perfect start to the 2026 season came to an end Sunday as Muskingum University defeated the Little Giants, 2-1, in the final match of the Robbie Dreher Classic at Fischer Field. The loss snapped Wabash’s season-opening six-game winning streak.

Wabash entered the match 6-0 after beating Alma 2-1 on Saturday. The Little Giants had also knocked off Franklin, Bluffton, Illinois Wesleyan, Manchester and Rose-Hulman during their unbeaten opening run.

Muskingum, meanwhile, came into Sunday with some momentum of its own. The Fighting Muskies had defeated Monmouth 1-0 on Saturday in the Robbie Dreher Classic, improving to 2-1-1 before facing Wabash.

The Muskies ultimately came away with the 2-1 victory, handing Wabash its first defeat and preventing the Little Giants from completing a perfect weekend on their home field.

Despite the loss, Wabash has put together an impressive opening stretch. The Little Giants have scored multiple goals in each of their first seven matches, including four-goal performances against Bluffton, Manchester and Rose-Hulman.

Wabash now turns its attention to another Indiana opponent. The Little Giants travel to Anderson University on Wednesday, September 16, for a 7 p.m. kickoff before returning home to face Augustana on Saturday.
